Abstract
The purpose of this research was to analyze the relationship between occupational burnout and organizational commitment in collaborators in the mining sector. To do this, correlational design was developed in a sample, non-probabilistically and intentionally selected of 132 male operations workers aged from 28 years and older. The instruments named the Occupational Wear Scale (EDO; Uribe-Prado, 2010) and the Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (Meyer & Allen, 1991) were used. The results showed an inverse correlation, of moderate effect and statistically very significant between the variables (r = -.34; p <.01) in the mining sector collaborators. At a specific level, direct correlations were reported between the dimensions of occupational burnout and the commitment to continuity, with the exception of achievement dissatisfaction. Inverse between affective commitment and all dimensions of occupational burnout. Continuity commitment showed negative correlations with exhaustion, achievement dissatisfaction and psychosomatic dimensions, but not with depersonalization in collaborators in the mining sector in 2017.
