dc.descriptionThe present descriptive study—traverse-retrospective had as objective to determine the consumption of opioids in patients assisted in the Regional Hospital of Trujillo during the year 2006. The opioids studied were Fentanyl, Morphine, Codeine and Pethidine. We analyzed all the prescriptions of Opioids assisted during the period of study. To determine the profile of consumption of that drugs was used as unit of measure to the Prescribed Daily Dose (PDD); being that Fentanyl was the opioide more used during the year 2006; followed of Codeine, Morphine and Pethidine. Also, the service of Surgery presented the higher consumption in Fentanyl and Pethidine while in the service of Medicine were Morphine and Codeine. The diagnoses more frequent for the use of opioids were Appendicitis, Hemophthisis and Cancer. We consider that exist an inadequate consumption of the opioids in the Regional Hospital of Trujillo, due mainly to shortage in the Department of Pharmacy of hospital mentionedes_ES
dc.description.abstractEl presente estudio descriptivo-transversal-retrospectivo tuvo como objetivo determinar el consumo de opioides en pacientes atendidos en el Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo durante el año 2006. Los opioides estudiados fueron Fentanilo, Codeína, Morfina y Petidina. Se analizaron todas las recetas de opioides atendidas durante el período de estudio. Para determinar el perfil de consumo de dichos medicamentos se usó como unidad de medida la Dosis Diaria Prescrita (DDP); encontrándose que el Fentanilo fue el opioide más utilizado durante el año 2006, seguido de Codeína, Morfina y Petidina. Asimismo, el servicio de Cirugía presentó el mayor consumo en fentanilo y petidina mientras que en el servicio de Medicina fueron morfina y codeína. Los diagnósticos más frecuentes por los que fueron registrados los opioides son Apendicitis, Hemoptisis y Cáncer. Consideramos que existe un consumo insuficiente de opioides en el Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo, debido principalmente al desabastecimiento en el Departamento de Farmacia del mencionado hospitales_ES
