Abstract
ABSTRACT The objective of this research work was to determine the effect of different stubble on the population growth of Eisenia foetida “Roja Californiana” in Otuzco, La Libertad”. For the preparation of the precompost, the stubble of crops in the area (wheat, lentils, peas and corn) supplemented with beef manure were used, the proportion was 50/50. The experiment was developed from May to October 2019, with a duration of 135 days, considering 45 days of precomposing and 90 days of feeding of E. foetida. 16 boxes of 0.4 x 0.25 x 0.2 m triplay were installed in 4 treatments with 4 repetitions. 0.02 m3 of precompost were placed in the boxes and then 40 adult worms per box were sown, using a total of 640 worms at the beginning of sowing. The evaluations were carried out at 15, 30, 45, 60 and 90 days after sowing. To perform the evaluations, the substrate was manually removed from the boxes, at the same time the cocones, juvenile worms (without clitelo) and adults (presence of clitelo) were separated and then counted and weighed. The data obtained in the evaluations were subjected to an analysis of variance, with a Completely Random Design (DCA) at a confidence level of 95%. The results indicated that the population growth of Eisenia foetida “Roja Californiana” in Otuzco, La Libertad is similar in the treatments proposed for the research work.
