Abstract
ABSTRACT The main purpose of the current research was to measure the impact of public investment spending on economic growth in the department of Amazonas, 2007-2019. To this end, the methodology followed the standards of non-experimental scope, explanatory nature and quantitative approach, where the sample included a total of 52 quarters data for each variable, which were collected from official Peruvian government sources such as the BCRP and the MEF. To test the hypotheses, an econometric VEC model was applied, the results of which showed that the variables referring to public spending on economic and social infrastructure investment are statistically significant at a 95% confidence level, and that they have positive coefficients. Therefore, it is concluded that the realization of the investment budget has a significant and positive impact on the growth of the economy of the Amazonas region, 2007-2019. Consequently, the higher the investment expenditure in the Amazonas region, the higher the economic growth. For this reason, the general hypothesis of the research was corroborated.
