Abstract
Obesity is a chronic disease of multifactorial origin that has a high prevalence in all countries of the world as a result of an interaction of genetic and environmental factors. Previous studies indicate that the Cartavio population shows obesity, present from an early age, and that it causes the development of the Metabolic Syndrome. The main objective was: To determine the type of correlation that exists between C-Reactive Protein and Carcinoembryonic Antigen in obese patients from the town of Cartavio - Santiago de Cao 40 obese patients from the city of Cartavio treated during the period June - August were evaluated from 2021; using the non-probabilistic design of consecutive cases. The sandwich immunodetection method was used for PCR and CEA, and the instructions of the manufacturer of the equipment and reagents were followed. We conclude that CEA was positively correlated with age; and, in addition, it was highly and positively correlated with the gender CRP. Therefore, the type of correlation between CReactive Protein and Carcinoembryonic Antigen is high and positive in obese patients from the town of Cartavio - Santiago de Cao
