dc.descriptionABSTRACT This paper aims to determine the relationship between carbohydrate consumption with a high glycemic index and the level of glycosylated hemoglobin in type 2 diabetics: Ortocentro.MINSA-Trujillo-Peru 2018 through a prospective cross-sectional study, in 54 elderly patients 30 years attending the Hospital Belén de Trujillo, Hospital of Basic specialties La Noria, District Hospital of Laredo. We used the technique of the personal home interview supported with a previously validated survey, containing the variable under study, carbohydrate consumption with high glycemic index, according to the technical document: Nutritional consultation for the prevention and control of type 2 diabetes mellitus of the Young adult and older adult person. Glycosylated hemoglobin in patients with type 2 diabetes was obtained from the medical records of the patients who go to the aforementioned hospitals. The results show, 75.9% consumed high amounts of carbohydrates with a high glycemic index, 61.1% had high results in the glycosylated hemoglobin test, 38.9% the result was low. Through the chi-square test for qualitative variables to be related; it is concluded that the consumption of carbohydrates with a high glycemic index is positively related to the level of glycosylated hemoglobin in type 2 diabetic patients.es_PE
dc.description.abstractRESUMEN El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre el consumo de carbohidratos con índice glicémico alto y el nivel de hemoglobina glucosilada en diabéticos tipo 2: Ortocentro.MINSA-Trujillo-Perú 2018 a través de un estudio prospectivo transversal, en 54 pacientes mayores de 30 años que acuden al Hospital Belén de Trujillo, Hospital de especialidades Básicas La Noria, Hospital Distrital de Laredo. Se utilizó la técnica de la entrevista personal domiciliaria apoyada con una encuesta validada previamente, conteniendo la variable en estudio, consumo de carbohidratos con índice glicémico alto, según el documento técnico: Consulta nutricional para la prevención y control de la diabetes mellitus tipo 2 de la persona joven adulta y adulta mayor. La hemoglobina glucosilada en pacientes con diabetes tipo 2, se obtuvo de las historias clínicas de los pacientes que acuden a los hospitales ya mencionados. Los resultados evidencian, el 75.9% consumió cantidades altas de carbohidratos con índice glicémico alto, 61.1% tuvieron resultados elevados en el examen de hemoglobina glucosilada, 38.9% el resultado fue bajo. Mediante la prueba de chi cuadrado para variables cualitativas a relacionarse; se concluye que, el consumo de carbohidratos con índice glicémico alto tiene relación positiva con el nivel de hemoglobina glucosilada en pacientes diabéticos tipo 2.es_PE
