| dc.description | The presente qualitative investigation of collision of social representations, which is realized by the intention of describing the maternal social representations on vaccines in children younger than five years. The participants were the mothers of the district of town San Isidro, for the information compilation the semistructured interviens was used and which were processed across the method of association of contents, emerging three categories: (1) vaccinating is prevention and illnesses protection: The mothers consider that the vaccine induces an intense protection response of humoral and cellular type; (2) vaccinating is children´s health: Mothers internalize that the vaccine helps prevent diseases so children will grow strong and healthy thus understanding that induces an immune response that prevents certain diseases by stimulating the production of antibodies; (3) push back to the vaccines: There is a rejection for various reasons, such as beliefs about the risks and consequences of the vaccine, and lack of information, which indicates that health teams should be involved in education activities to strengthen the knowledge, Acceptance of vaccines, awareness raising and, fundamentally, acceptance and participation in vaccination activities. | dc.description.abstract | La presente investigación de abordaje cualitativa y método de representaciones sociales, que se realizó con el propósito de describir las representaciones sociales maternas sobre vacunas en niños menores de cinco años. Los participantes fueron las madres de familias del distrito de Villa San Isidro, para la recolección de datos se usó la entrevista semiestructurada, las cuales fueron procesadas a través del método de asociación de contenidos, emergiendo tres categorías: (1) Vacuna es prevención y protección de enfermedades: Las madres consideran que la vacuna induce una respuesta de protección en forma intensa de tipo humoral y celular, la cual ha venido promocionando el Ministerio de salud a través del tiempo en los diversos medios de comunicación; (2) Vacuna es salud de los niños: Las madres tienen internalizado que la vacuna ayuda a prevenir enfermedades por lo que los niños crecerán fuertes y sanos entendiendo de esta manera que induce a una respuesta inmune que previene de determinadas enfermedades estimulando la producción de anticuerpos; (3) Rechazo a las vacunas: Existe el rechazo por diversos motivos sean creencias sobre riesgos y consecuencias de la vacuna, asimismo por falta de información lo cual indica que el equipo de salud debe concretarse en actividades de educación para fortalecer en las madres el conocimiento, aceptación de las vacunas, toma de conciencia y fundamentalmente lograr la aceptación y participación en las actividades de vacunación. | es_PE |
