dc.descriptionUnveiling the day-a-day in mother care child with Down syndrome, seeking to discover and understand the essence of the phenomenon, was the purpose of the present investigation were interviewed seven mothers of children with Down syndrome (DS) in Trujillo. The methodological approach was employed in the phenomenological perspective of Martin Heidegger. The guiding question was: Relate me in detail how you live and what you do day to day to care for your child or girl? The findings show that a child with DS to be more dependent than other child permanently needs his mother and her care, a situation that can be evidenced in the day to day of these mothers, which provide different care, which requires more time, greater effort and dedication to serve them and meet their needs for food, hygiene, clothing, education, health, protection and love. dc.description.abstractDevelar la cotidianidad de las madres en el cuidado del niño (a) con síndrome de Down, buscando descubrir y comprender la esencia del fenómeno, fue el propósito de la presente investigación en donde se entrevistó a 7 madres de niños con síndrome de Down (SD), en Trujillo. La trayectoria metodológica empleada fue la fenomenológica en la perspectiva de Martin Heidegger. La pregunta orientadora fue: ¿Reláteme con detalle cómo vive y qué hace día a día para cuidar a su hijo(a)? Los hallazgos demuestran que un niño con SD por ser más dependiente que otro niño necesita permanentemente de su madre y de sus cuidados, situación que se puede evidenciar en el cotidiano de estas madres, las cuales brindan un cuidado diferente, que requiere más tiempo, mayor esfuerzo y dedicación para atenderlos y satisfacer sus necesidades de alimentación, higiene, vestido, educación, salud, protección y amor.
