dc.descriptionEvaluate the inhalation technique of the MDI by medical interns MATERIAL AND METHODS: A descriptive study was designed with 89 Medicine interns from the HRDT and Chepén Support Hospital in 2021. They were sent an MDI, then via recorded ZOOM they were asked to demonstrate the inhalation technique. It was scored following the steps established to use a NAEPP adapted MDI device. RESULTS: The 89 intern doctors (48 men and 41 women) participate. The inhalation technique was deficient in 62.92% of participants, in 65.85% of women and in 60.42% of men. The 75.28% (67/89) admitted having previous training in inhalation technique and 21.35% stated that they used the MDI to treat their bronchial hyperreactivity disease. However, 59.7% and 52.63% of them, respectively, had a deficient score. The most frequent errors exceeded 50% and were steps 7, 9, 5, 6, 4 and 8. CONCLUSION: The percentage of errors was high and the inhalation technique of the MDI was deficient regardless of gender, previous training in inhalation technique and the use of the MDI to treat their bronchial hyperreactivity disease.es_PE
dc.description.abstractValorar la técnica inhalatoria del MDI por parte de los internos de medicina MATERIALES Y MÉTODO: Se diseñó un estudio descriptivo con 89 internos de Medicina del HRDT y Hospital de Apoyo Chepén del año 2021. Se les envió un MDI, luego vía ZOOM grabada se les solicitó demostrar la técnica inhalatoria. Se calificó siguiendo los pasos establecidos para usar un dispositivo MDI adaptado de NAEPP. RESULTADOS: Participaron los 89 internos de medicina (48 hombres y 41 mujeres). La técnica inhalatoria fue deficiente en 62.92% de participantes, en 65.85% de mujeres y en 60.42% de hombres. El 75.28% (67/89) admitió tener adiestramiento previo en maniobra inhalatoria y 21.35% manifestó usar el MDI para tratar su enfermedad de hiperreactividad bronquial. Sin embargo, tuvieron una puntuación deficiente el 59.7% y el 52.63% de ellos, respectivamente. Los errores más frecuentes superaron el 50% y fueron los pasos 7, 9, 5, 6, 4 y 8. CONCLUSIONES: El porcentaje de errores fue elevado y la técnica inhalatoria del MDI fue deficiente independientemente del sexo, del adiestramiento previo en técnica inhalatoria y del uso del MDI tratar su enfermedad de hiperreactividad bronquial.es_PE
