Abstract
ABSTRACT The general objective of this research work is to determine the incidence of labor informality on the quality of employment in the La Libertad region, during the years 2018-2022. For this, the source of information used was the databases of the National Household Survey (ENAHO) for the years 2018-2022. The Employment Quality Index (ICE) was shown as a dependent variable and labor informality as an independent variable, in addition to other variables such as: branch of economic activity, size of the workplace, educational level, sex and age. In relation to the econometric analysis, multiple linear regression models were estimated for each year, accepting the hypothesis stated that labor informality has a negative impact on the quality of employment, with this incidence being higher in 2019. Furthermore, the larger the size business, the higher the quality of employment; Likewise, the more education individuals have, the higher the quality of employment; Being a man means having a better quality of employment; On the contrary, working in the industry and commerce branches in relation to the extractive branch decreases the quality of employment; and, the older the age, the higher the quality of employment, specifically up to age 60, from here on the more years of age imply a reduction in the quality of employment, denoting an inverted u relationship between these variables.
