dc.descriptionThis research is descriptive and analytical treatment of cognitive gap in existing intellectual operations of university students two years or cycles of different study. The investigation was to determine the existence of a cognitive gap in the development of intellectual operations; and specify the level of this gap, with reference to Piaget's theory of intellectual operations stage of formal operations spanning from 16 years. Basic research is descriptive and, further including the application of an instrument to collect data and to determine the existing level of cognitive gap. The stratified sample included 216 students of secondary school career, two years or different levels of study in six specialties: Philosophy, History, Science, Math, Languages, Language-Literature, all students during the academic year 2008. As for the instrument used a version of the Mensa test, free distribution was adapted. This instrument measured 4 dimensions or aspects of intellectual operations: hypothetical deductive reasoning, textual encoding and decoding, combinatorial analysis and probability calculation. The results obtained after the application of the instrument allowed draw conclusions and determine certain recommendations to bridge the gap registered in the development of intellectual operations of students.es_ES
dc.description.abstractEl presente trabajo de investigación consiste en el tratamiento descriptivo y analítico del desfase cognitivo existente en las operaciones intelectuales de estudiantes universitarios de dos años o ciclos de estudio distintos. La investigación tuvo como propósito determinar la existencia de un desfase cognitivo en el desarrollo de las operaciones intelectuales; así como especificar el nivel de este desfase, tomando como referencia la teoría de Piaget sobre las operaciones intelectuales de la etapa de las operaciones formales que abarca a partir de los 16 años. La investigación es de tipo básico y descriptivo, incluyendo además la aplicación de un instrumento para recoger datos y poder determinar el nivel de desfase cognitivo existente. La muestra estratificada abarcó 216 estudiantes de la carrera profesional de Educación Secundaria, de dos años o ciclos de estudio distintos, en sus seis especialidades: Filosofía, Historia, Ciencias Naturales, Matemática, Idiomas, Lengua- Literatura, todos ellos estudiantes durante el año académico 2008. En cuanto al instrumento utilizado se adaptó una versión del Test de Mensa, de difusión gratuita. Este instrumento midió 4 dimensiones o aspectos de las operaciones intelectuales: razonamiento hipotético deductivo, codificación y decodificación textual, análisis combinatorio y cálculo probabilístico. Los resultados obtenidos luego de la aplicación del instrumento permitieron elaborar las conclusiones y determinar ciertas recomendaciones para superar el desfase registrado en el desarrollo de las operaciones intelectuales de los estudiantes.es_ES
