Abstract
The present quantitative study of descriptive correlational methods, aimed to investigate the correlation between levels of academic stress and the application of coping strategies among Nursing students at the National University of Trujillo. The sample consisted of 132 students from the third and fifth semesters, who were administered the "Sisco Academic Stress Inventory" developed by Arturo Barraza (2007) and the "Coping Strategies Inventory," Spanish adaptation by Cano, Rodríguez, and García (2007). To analyze the data, Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS v27 statistical programs were employed. The data were processed using descriptive analysis in simple descriptive statistical tables and contingency tables. To determine the relationship between the variables, the Kendall's Tau b statistical test was applied, considering a significance level of 95%. The results obtained indicate that 69% of the respondents presented a medium level of stress, followed by 28% with a high level, and 3% with low stress. Similarly, 60% of students showed regular use of coping strategies, and 40% used them good. Concluding that there is no significant relationship between the two variables studied (p = 0,11).
