dc.description.abstractReconocida como �Cultura Matriz de la Civilizaci�n Andina� correspondiente al Primer Horizonte u Horizonte Temprano entre los 2500 a.C al 500 a.C. Los Chav�n alcanzaron un extraordinario dominio de la piedra, material que emplearon para hacer construcciones, esculturas y relieves de impresionantes aspectos y caracter�stico estilo. Es notable el nivel de desarrollo que alcanzaron en agricultura, arquitectura y cer�mica, as� como en su capacidad administrativa, lo que permiti� dominar gran parte del norte y el centro del Per�. Julio C. Tello su descubridor plante� que la Cultura Chav�n fue de origen amaz�nico debido a las m�ltiples representaciones de la iconograf�a selv�tica en sus manifestaciones art�sticas, especialmente en la cer�mica. En su m�ximo apogeo Chav�n de Hu�ntar, centro principal chav�n, actual Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad, fue un importante centro ceremonial y centro de irradiaci�n cultural cuya influencia se extendi� por gran parte de la costa y sierra de los andes peruanos.es_PE
