Abstract
Given the lack of literature regarding the identification of leadership styles in adolescents and the need for diagnostic studies on leadership in adolescents in the fourth year of the Educational Institution Nº 081002 "Javier Heraud", we seek to identify the predominant leadership style in fourth year high school students of the mentioned educational institution. It is simple descriptive research with non-experimental design, with a sample of 100 students belonging to the fourth year of high school. The Robert R. Blake and Jane S. Mouton (1980) leadership styles test was administered. Mouton (1980), which was translated and adapted to the school context at the secondary level, was administered and validated by five experts. Likewise, the instrument has a Cronbach's alpha of 0.805, which indicates high reliability. The results were that 60% of fourth year high school students showed a tendency towards the "balanced leader" leadership style, 36% showed a tendency towards the "outsider leader" leadership style, 3% showed a tendency towards the "social leader" leadership style, and only 1% showed a tendency towards the "authoritarian leader" leadership style. In conclusion, it can be stated that the predominant leadership style is the "balanced leader" style.
