    Factores socioeconómicos asociados al rendimiento académico de estudiantes de la escuela académico profesional de estadística - u.n.t. semestre 2010-i

    This research focuses on analysis of socioeconomic factors affecting academic performance of students in the School of Statistics, National University of Trujillo, and defining academic performance as the result of the average grades obtained by students in all enrolled courses (weighted average in the cycle or semester). This research is explained and applied, besides being a non-experimental research. It included a sample of 117 students, who answered a survey and an interview, and were also collected history notes. For the analysis of the data tables and frequency distribution patterns obtained from the Binary Logistic Regression used in this research was used; to determine the socioeconomic factors associated with academic performance method introduced to obtain a logistic regression model generally used, also had the Forward method to obtain a logistic regression model reduced, which allowed obtaining what factors are influencing academic performance of students; these methods were found in the SPSS program, part of the regression command. It was concluded that the household income, employment status and number of hours devoted to the study (apart from class hours); socioeconomic factors are associated with academic performance, ie these factors are significantly affecting the academic performance of students.
